Our practice has deep roots in the Coffs Harbour community — originally established in the 1960s under the care of Dr Backhouse, who served local families for many decades and helped shape the warm, trusted environment the clinic is known for.

The practice was later led by Dr Yahia Sameh, who cared for generations of families for over 15 years. During his leadership, the clinic was re-envisioned as The Cosmetic & Holistic Dentistry Centre, reflecting a shift toward a more modern, integrated and health-focused approach to dental care — one that considers breathing, function, and whole-mouth balance alongside the teeth themselves.

Today, we continue to honour this history while advancing a thoughtful, patient-centred philosophy. We welcome individuals and families of all ages, offering a full range of general dentistry, alongside restorative, cosmetic, implant and airway-focused treatments. Our approach is conservative where possible — preserving natural tooth structure, supporting long-term stability, and ensuring patients feel informed, respected and comfortable throughout their care.
